Our Governing Body is key role in supporting and challenging the school to help us achieve high standards of education, leadership and overall wellbeing. Working particularly close with our Head Teacher- Mrs C Sleath – and other staff to provide a strategic direction and ensure accountability and to help shape the future of the school.

Pen portrait: I am very happy to have been appointed as a co-opted governor and chair of the LAB by the Children First Learning Partnership Directors and am now looking forward to working to continue to provide excellent educational experiences for our children here at Marlfields Primary School

I have lived in Congleton for the past 39 years, the whole of which time I have worked at Siemens, initially here in Congleton util when in 1991 the Sales and Marketing business for Factory Automation moved to Manchester. During this time I was also a councillor on Congleton Borough Council.

I have been an active participant in many local clubs and associations and with retirement and having more time on my hands I now help to support a number of local charities.

Pen Portrait: I am really pleased to have been appointed as Staff Governor while Mrs Blagg is on maternity leave. I have been part of the CFLP Trust for just under two years, previously working at another school within the trust before joining Marlfields. During my time here, I have thoroughly enjoyed becoming part of the school community and contributing to the positive, supportive environment that Marlfields is known for. I look forward to representing staff and supporting the continued growth and success of our school.
